Small Soldiers DVD Small Soldiers: "Like Toy Story but these toys that come to life really kick butt!"
In a very smart first 10 minutes, new toy-company
owner Denis Leary tells his crew he wants toys "that play back." Hence the small soldiers
land in Anytown, U.S.A., and the loner kid Alan (Gregory Smith) opens them up before they are supposed
to be on the shelves. Those military-grade chips sure make them smart and give the toys plenty of pithy
retorts to boot. Plenty of violence, er, action, most of it fun enough. The vocal talents, including
Tommy Lee Jones, Frank Langella, and cast members of The Dirty Dozen are inspired characters,
the humans less so. With Gremlins director Joe Dante at the helm, it plays like a sequel to that
'80s fantasy. Amazing visual effects, of course.

An indestructible cyborg travels through time from the post-apocalyptic wasteland of 2029 to present-day Los Angeles in order to fulfill a special mission to assassinate the "mother of the future" -- an innocent young woman who has no idea she is destined to give birth to a son who will save the world from nuclear destruction. A sensational wedding of high-tech hardware and hardcore violence that became one of the most influential action films of the 1980s.
Terminator2: Judgement Day DVD In a sequel to 1984's blockbuster hit, T2 offers a newer, gentler Terminator. Reprogrammed by the human resistance in the year 2029, the original Terminator comes back to save John Connor, the future leader of the humans, from the morphing T-1000 robot. Upon his arrival the naked Terminator appropriates some snappy biker gear, a Harley and a wide assortment of guns, and promptly sets out to protect the boy. In complete contrast, the T-1000 disguises himself as a clean-cut LAPD officer and grimly proceeds on his mission. What ensues is an action-packed race to see who can find the future leader of the human race first.
Total Recall DVD Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in this super-violent sci-fi action extravaganza set mostly on Mars, circa 2084. Schwarzenegger plays Quaid, a happy earthling whose comfortable life on the home planet is disrupted by recurring nightmares about Mars. In these dreams Quaid is a secret agent aiding a band of revolutionaries in their war against Cohaagen, the evil industrialist who controls Mars' air reserves. When Quaid begins to suspect that these dreams may, in fact, be memories that have been erased from his consciousness and replaced by artificial ones -- that his blue-collar job on earth and beautiful wife may be part of a scheme to keep him out of the way -- Quaid hightails it back to Mars to find out the truth.
The Rock DVD Gung-ho general Francis Hummel, armed with deadly chemical rockets and aided by violent cohorts, takes over the island of Alcatraz, holding 81 tourists hostage. Hummel promises to deploy the missiles over San Francisco if Washington doesn't make amends to ignored combat victims to the tune of $100 million. A cadre of Navy SEALs are dispatched to quell the situation, assisted by the mysterious, macho John Mason, the only man to ever escape from Alcatraz, who must now help the SEALs break back in. Joining them is mild-mannered chemical weapons expert Stanley Goodspeed, who is unaccustomed to such things as guns and military maneuvers. Their high-octane mission is filled with surprises, particularly after Hummel and company quickly annihilate the SEALs -- leaving Mason and Goodspeed to save the day all by themselves...
Armageddon DVD Armageddon, is an action packed thriller that has everything to offer. Like all movies, it bases around one's love for someone. AJ, a "rough neck" is after Harry Stamper's(Bruce Willis) daughter. A touch of romance blended in with comedy mainly from Steve Buscemi. Armageddon is also suspensful, and unlike most movies, you can't predict the ending if you haven't heard it from someone by now. If you've seen DEEP IMPACT, or you like asteroid movies, pick up a copy of Armageddon.
Repo Man "A repo man spends his life getting into intense situations." So says Harry Dean Stanton as Bud, the king-daddy car repossessor, in Repo Man, a post-punk, nihilistic science fiction comedy from Alex Cox. It combines the eerie alien conspiracies of The X-Files, the hardcore edge of Pulp Fiction, and the memorable one-line raucous humor of Raising Arizona into a wacky whole deserving its considerable cult status.
The X-Files Movie The X-Files movie is definately one of the Top 10 movies of '98. FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) fight the future, and government conspiracys in this first fleature film based upon the TV series The X-Files.
